Halloween Dance provides fun for everyone

By Alejandra Ochoa

Every year Waldo Middle School has a dance the last Friday of October. This dance is called the Waldo Halloween dance. In the Halloween dance you can wear a costume, but you can’t do face paint or wear a mask!

At the dance they play different types of music genres like hip-hop, rock and roll, and many other types of music. I interviewed some students from Waldo and asked them some simple questions about the Waldo Halloween dance.

Q: Have you ever gone to Waldo’s Halloween dance?

Abi’s response: “No, I have never gone to a Halloween dance, and I’ve also never gone to any of Waldo’s dances.”

Q: Do you like going to Waldo’s Halloween dance?

Lvina’s answer: “Yes, I do, because they are fun to go to, and I have a chance to spend more time with my friends.”

Q: Do you think it’s too expensive for a dance ticket? If yes, then how much would you want them to cost?

Cheyenne’s response: “No, it’s not expensive. It's fine the way they are. Unfortunately for some people, it seems expensive compared to last year’s price.”

Q: Would you wear a costume to the dance? Why or why not?

Cristal’s answer: “No, I would not wear a costume to the dance, because I would be embarrassed.”

Q: What kind of treats do you think they are going to be selling at the dance?

Lily’s response: “I think they are going to be selling candy, soda, water, juice, chips, and cookies at the dance.”

These were all the responses I got from the questions asked to the students. Some people have gone to Waldo’s dances and some haven’t. Most people like going to dances, and some people think it’s too expensive for school dances. Every person has their own opinion. You must have been interested in going to a dance, and some of you have gone but some haven't. I went to last month's dance and I thought it was fun. I spent time with friends and talked with them. The next dance is right before winter break, so stop by to check it out!
